swagata
RYT-200
Born in India, my journey with yoga began at an early age. In first grade, our curriculum included a class called Yogasana, where I was introduced to various yoga postures. However, at such a young age, I had yet to grasp the true essence of yoga beyond the physical practice.
It wasn’t until 2008-2009 that my perspective began to shift. My mother took me to her yoga classes, and for the first time, I started to feel the depth of this practice beyond just movement. This newfound curiosity led me deeper into my studies, and I pursued a master’s degree in arts (Sanskrit). Later, I was selected for an M.Phil. in Yoga Philosophy, where I conducted a year-long research project titled"Yoga Philosophy and Its Modern Relevance to the World."
Through the study of ancient yogic texts, I discovered a profound understanding of yoga—not just as a practice of physical postures, but as a way of life. For me, yoga is a daily journey of self-exploration, one that nurtures both the inner and outer self. My studies reinforced the importance of fundamental yogic principles such as Ahimsa (Love & Non-Violence), Satya (Truthfulness), and Ishvara Pranidhana (Surrender to the Divine).
In 2014, I moved to the United States, bringing with me the wisdom and traditions of my homeland. My passion for sharing yoga with others led me to earn my RYT-200 certification from Yoga Path Palm Beach in 2017. Since then, my mission has been to guide students toward a holistic understanding of yoga—one that extends beyond the mat and into everyday life.
At SOHAM Yoga, I am honored to share this beautiful, ancient practice in a way that is both authentic and relevant to modern life. Through breath, movement, and mindfulness, I strive to create a space where students can cultivate balance, inner peace, and a deep connection with themselves.
Join me in this transformative journey and experience the true essence of yoga
